Dr. Emily Fried - Chiropractor

Dr. Emily Fried moved to the Portland area in 2019 when she began chiropractic school at the University of Western States. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with her Doctor of Chiropractic degree and Bachelor of Science degree in Human Biology. Her interest in the musculoskeletal system was fueled in undergraduate school at Elon University in North Carolina where she spent several years working as a human anatomy teaching assistant. Dr. Emily developed a passion for teaching and learning about the human body. She’s also performed two craniotomies and demonstrated to fellow students how to dissect and remove the brain and spinal cord from human donors for further study.

Dr. Emily is originally from Connecticut and grew up trying her hand at whatever sport was available each season. When playing club soccer in college she worked through a traumatic knee injury that enforced her interest and fascination in physical medicine as well as chronic pain. Over the course of her time in the Pacific Northwest, she’s remained very active and does anything that gets her outside, from hiking, backpacking, and whitewater kayaking to rockhounding and hopefully soon, mountaineering. When she’s not outside or in the clinic, she’s most likely at the pottery wheel, playing guitar, or making homemade ravioli.

By the end of 2022, Dr. Emily will be a certified DNS Exercise trainer and looks forward to integrating this knowledge into her rehabilitation treatments. She utilizes her broad knowledge in evidence-informed care to work with her patients to come up with an appropriate treatment plan tailored to their movement goals and needs. Ultimately, her hope is to provide a foundation of functionality to both help prevent injury occurrence and also show people how capable they truly are.
