Dr. Ajay Iselin - CoFounder
Dr. Ajay Iselin co-founded Momentum Chiropractic & Sports Medicine to enable patients to reach their full potential through the use of movement. He believes that movement is our best medicine, and is passionate about helping his patients achieve their health and fitness goals.
Dr. Iselin received his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic in San Jose, California. Prior to that, he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology from Central Washington University. Maintaining physical health is a vital part of Dr. Iselin’s personal and professional life. In addition to practicing as a sports chiropractor, Dr. Iselin has his CrossFit level one trainers certification, and is a certified strength and conditioning coach. He played collegiate soccer at Central Washington University and can still be found competing in CrossFit competitions, doing triathlons and personal training.
Dr. Iselin has provided sports chiropractic care at many elite sporting events, such as the Portland Marathon, Sea Otter Classic bike race, Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon, and the North Face Endurance Challenge. Dr. Iselin enjoys snowboarding, mountain biking, golfing, soccer, hiking, and Crossfit.
Dr. Iselin is excited to bring his clinical experience, personal background in athletics, and knowledge of rehabilitation to Momentum Chiropractic & Sports Medicine.
Dr. Lindsay Iselin - CoFounder
Growing up as an athlete, Dr.Lindsay developed an early interest in sports medicine after suffering her own injuries participating in downhill skiing. Her interest in chiropractic care was ignited after experiencing her own successful recoveries from her multiple injuries.
Dr. Lindsay co-founded Momentum Chiropractic & Sports Medicine as she is passionate about providing skilled, compassionate chiropractic care to her patients including athletes, weekend warriors and those looking to improve their well-being. Dr. Iselin believes in an evidence based approach utilizing the best researched methods and treatments available, tailored to every patient’s needs.
Dr. Lindsay received her Doctorate of Chiropractic degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic in San Jose, California where she graduated as valedictorian of her class with Summa Cum Laude honors and was admitted to the Pi Tau Delta Chiropractic Honor Society. She obtained her BSc in Kinesiology and Psychology from Simon Fraser University in Burnaby BC. While completing her chiropractic education, she completed an internship at St. Mary’s University in Moraga California working with division one collegiate athletes.
In addition to working with the athletic population, Dr. Lindsay enjoys working in women’s healthcare, with special interest in pregnancy, perinatal care and pediatric care.
Dr. Lindsay is originally from Calgary, Canada. In her spare time she enjoys skiing, kayaking the local lakes and rivers, hanging out with her two boxers, and taking crossfit classes. She is excited to share her knowledge and experience with the patients of Momentum Chiropractic & Sports Medicine.
Dr. Emily Fried - Chiropractor
Dr. Emily Fried is a chiropractor passionate about helping people move better, feel stronger, and return to the activities that make life meaningful. She takes a patient-centered, evidence-informed approach that combines hands-on treatment, movement-based rehabilitation, and individualized care plans tailored to each patient’s needs. Dr. Emily works with a wide range of people, from athletes and active adults to those simply wanting to feel better in everyday life. Her clinical interests include sports injuries, neck and back pain, headaches, running-related injuries, movement limitations, and pre- and post-natal care. She is trained in the Webster Technique and provides supportive chiropractic care throughout pregnancy and the postpartum period. She also emphasizes patient education, helping people better understand pain, build confidence in their body’s ability to heal, and develop greater autonomy throughout the recovery process.
Dr. Emily moved to Portland in 2019 to attend the University of Western States, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with her Doctor of Chiropractic degree and a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology. Before chiropractic school, she earned her Exercise Science degree from Elon University while working as a human anatomy teaching assistant, which deepened her passion for anatomy, movement, and rehabilitation. During her time playing soccer in college, she experienced a traumatic knee injury and the challenges of chronic pain firsthand, which further shaped her interest in physical medicine and recovery. She continues to integrate advanced rehabilitation principles into her care, including Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS) exercise concepts.
Originally from Connecticut, Dr. Emily grew up playing sports year-round and developed an appreciation for movement, resilience, and recovery through both athletics and her own rehabilitation journey. Outside the clinic, she enjoys running, hiking, backpacking, whitewater kayaking, strength training, pottery, gardening, rockhounding, and cooking for friends and family. Whether patients are recovering from injury, training for an event, or simply wanting to move through life with less pain, Dr. Emily is committed to helping them feel capable and confident in what their bodies can do.
Dr. Justin Jelen - Chiropractor
Dr. Justin Jelen joined Momentum Chiropractic & Sports Medicine in 2024, bringing 12+ years
of clinical experience focused on nonsurgical trea
tment of sport, work-related, auto collision,
and everyday injuries. Originally from Chicago, he obtained his undergraduate degree in
Exercise and Sport Science at Tulane University before relocating to Portland to attend the
University of Western States College of Chiropractic where he earned his Doctorate of
Chiropractic as well as a second Bachelor of Science in Human Biology. In 2016 he earned his
certification in the treatment of Whiplash and Brain Injury Traumatology from the Spine
Research Institute of San Diego (SRISD), making him an expert on the most comprehensive,
gold-standard treatment and rehabilitation protocols for treating the most common injuries
sustained in everyday motor vehicle accidents.
Dr. Jelen treats with the philosophy that everyone is an athlete, from individuals just beginning
their journey to optimal health, to weekend warriors undoing postural injuries from the work
week, to dedicated athletes aiming to compete at the highest level. He believes people’s
lifestyles (sitting at a desk, sleeping in the wrong posture, exercising with incorrect
bio mechanics, etc.) can have a profound impact on their ability to live life to the fullest. He aims
to improve not only his patient’s ability to perform their daily activities, but to also provide
education on the importance of maintaining correct movement patterns to avoid recurring injury.
Dr. Jelen’s extensive clinical skill set and training include myofascial release and pin-and-stretch
therapies; concussion diagnosis, therapy, and recovery; individualized exercise rehabilitation;
instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM); cupping therapy; and more. He is eager to
bring this skill set and experience to the active community at Momentum Chiropractic Sports
Medicine and the surrounding Portland area.
In his free time Dr. Jelen enjoys traveling, cooking, experiencing the best restaurants in
Portland, and raising a family with his wife Nicole. He maintains an active lifestyle through
running, weight lifting, CrossFit, HIIT training, yoga, playing with their amazing rescue pup, and
chasing around their baby daughter.
Dr. Nicolette Napier - Chiropractor
Dr. Nicolette Napier received a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology and then spent countless hours in the chiropractic and physical therapy exercise bay helping patient’s reduce their pain and improve their function through movement and exercise before attending Chiropractic school. During this time, she also earned several advanced certifications, including her NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist certification (NSCA-CSCS), her CSEP Certified Exercise Physiologist certification (CSEP-CEP), and her CrossFit Level 2 coaching certification (CF-L2) before earning her Doctorate of Chiropractic from the University of Western States.
After turning her attention to the endurance world, Dr. Nicolette earned her USATF Certified Track and Field Coaching certification (USATF-1) and became a Hanson’s Marathon Method Certified Coach as she began to compete in Marathon’s herself and naturally began coaching and helping others.
Dr. Nicolette enjoys working with athletes of all levels on functional rehabilitation, integrating her experience from the rehab bay with her training in Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS) and her strength and coaching backgrounds. She approaches patient care through multiple lenses—combining functional movement analysis, biomechanics, rehabilitation exercises and chiropractic assessment and treatment—to create comprehensive and individualized treatment plans that are evidence-based, empathy driven, and flexible to help you reach your goals.
In her own athletic career, Dr. Nicolette competed in a variety of sports including; Cross Country, Track and Field, Lacrosse, Rugby, CrossFit, and Division I and International-level Ice Hockey. These days, you can find her casually training for a destination running race, camping on long weekends, or paddle boarding on the water when the sun comes out. In her mind, there’s no better way to start your day than a sunrise run with friends followed by a good coffee.
Cuautli Verastegui - Massage Therapist
Cuautli has lived in Oregon most of his life. Attending PSU brought him to Portland, and he had been here ever since. Cuautli has participated in sports all his life—running, hiking, yoga, and basketball are activities he still does regularly. A big passion Cuautli shares is helping people get back to the activities they love. That has culminated in Cuautli getting certified to teach Yin Yoga, graduate from Oregon School of Massage, and get a Personal Training certification through ACE. His massage practice combines PNF stretching, acupressure points, myofacial release, and deep tissue work as his main modalities. He’s excited to combine his education and skills at Momentum Chiropractic and Sports Medicine.
